ROYAL PALACE

Cambodia’s history is on display at the Royal Palace and National Museum, Plantation’s immediate neighbours. The ornate Khmer architecture of these cultural landmarks can be viewed from our upper floors.

CENTRAL MARKET

With its art deco design and countless vendors, Central Market is an essential Phnom Penh destination. From sunglasses to scarves to sundries, this is a great place for souvenirs. The Night Market, located along the riverside, is open-air and relaxed. Both are a short tuk-tuk ride from Plantation.

WAT PHNOM

This Buddhist temple was established nearly 700 years ago and along with it, was the city of Phnom Penh. Located atop the city’s only hill, Wat Phnom is both an important historical site and lovely green space.

INDOCHINA NATIONAL BANK

The Indochina National Bank building is a classic example of French colonial architecture. Built 120 years ago, it has been meticulously restored to its original grandeur and today houses Van’s Restaurant, a purveyor of fine French cuisine.

NATIONAL
MUSEUM

Learn about Cambodian culture and history at the National Museum. An incredible collection of Khmer art, including sculpture, ceramics and jewelry are on display.

INDEPENDENCE MONUMENT

Designed by celebrated Cambodian architect Vann Molyvann, the Independence Monument stands at the intersection of Norodom and Sihanouk Boulevards, commemorating independence from France.

RIVERSIDE

Get a sense of Phnom Penh with a stroll along the Riverside, where the Tonlé Sap and Mekong Rivers meet. A 5 minute walk from Plantation, this is a fantastic area for people watching. Best enjoyed at dusk or dawn.

NATIONAL LIBRARY

Set in cool gardens on elegant Street 92, the National Library is a place to reflect on Cambodia’s history and future. Built in 1924, the library’s records and books were largely destroyed by the Khmer Rouge in the 1970s. Today it shelves an eclectic mix of materials in Khmer, French, English and German.

OLYMPIC STADIUM

Olympic Stadium is Cambodia’s largest venue and an essential Phnom Penh landmark. Designed by renowned architect Vann Molyvann, the stadium is free to explore and hosts local league football matches on weekends.
