On Saturday September 19th at 8:00 pm, Plantation Urban Resort Phnom Penh houses a unique top Jazz event featuring Andreas Dehner, a German upright bass Master.
Upright bass is one of Jazz’s most iconic and difficult instruments, the pillar of both Jazz rhythm and harmonics.
Andreas showcases a multifaceted experience. After studying Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart and Berlin, he played with various German orchestras extensively, before becoming a permanent member of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in Kuala Lumpur for eight years. After moving back to Europe, he went on to perform with the Sinfonieorchester St. Gallen in Switzerland and further developed his jazz playing at the Zurich University of the Arts, further developing his Modern Jazz vocabulary. He has shared the stage with international artists, including saxophone celebrity Branford Marsalis.

For this event he will perform a selection of pieces paying tribute to the greatest upright bass players as well as originals, accompanied by some of the most seasoned musicians in Cambodia, also welcoming guest vocalist Intan Andriana, Phnom Penh’s Jazz diva.
